Who We Are

Ebert Welding Limited has been in business since 1946.

We are one of Ontario’s longest standing C.W.B. (Canadian Welding Bureau) certified welding and fabricating shops, complete with extensive machining and designing facilities.  All of our welders are professionally trained, and are individually certified by the C.W.B.  To maintain certification each welder must pass a biannual C.W.B. conducted welding test consisting of destructive and ultrasound testing.  Every groomer is manufactured according to detailed technical drawings, assuring consistency and parts compatibility from unit to unit.  Quality control inspections are conducted at various intervals during fabrication.  Each unit is subject to a meticulous pre delivery inspection, and undergoes a controlled dynamometer break-in period to assure trouble free operation right from delivery.

Ebert Welding has been an authorized New Holland farm equipment dealership since 1983.  We are recognized as a “Service Excellence” dealer.  Only the top dealerships in North-America receive this honor.  It means that we regularly send our shop personnel to the latest technical training schools and are equipped with the most advanced tools to properly service New Holland equipment.

We deal directly with New Holland for parts, service, technical info, warranty, etc...  This means there is no middleman involved.  We sell/service the tractor, fabricate and install the grooming modification package, and deal directly with the club...  "one stop shopping".

Our service knowledge is backed by a huge in-house inventory (approximately $ 750,000.00) of industrial and welding supplies, power transmission products, New Holland and other farm, industrial and commercial parts, supplies, and product lines.  We are linked by computer to all of our major suppliers.

Philosophy:

There are far too many places a snowmobile club must invest...  Signage, clubhouse, new trail development, advertising, insurance, etc. etc. etc.  If most of the budget is spent on purchasing, operating and maintaining a groomer, other important areas must be sacrificed.  There is a need for a groomer that costs less to purchase, costs less to maintain, requires no specialized skills to operate, withstands inadvertent operational abuse, and does not depend solely on a handful of specialty suppliers to keep running.

Why a tractor powered groomer?

As an authorized New Holland farm equipment dealer, we know that heavy equipment and implements can and should perform day after day with little or no mechanical problems, if  properly designed and suited to the task at hand.  We set out to adapt a vehicle expressly designed for the rigorous demands of constant load, adverse operating conditions, and sometimes less than ideal operation and maintenance practices...  a good old farm tractor!  Consider the following;

A farm tractor is designed to spend hours pulling several blades up to twelve inches deep through solid ground, in often rocky and extreme conditions...  sometimes known as plowing.  This type of drivetrain shock load makes grooming seem like a walk in the park!  Yet tractors go year after year performing rugged farm tasks, with a lifetime often surpassing 10,000 or 12,000 hours!!!

While spending hour upon hour in his tractor, today’s farmer expects the comfort found in a luxury car...  and rightfully so!  A comfortable operator is a safe and productive operator.  New Holland delivers a fully loaded, extremely quiet, super deluxe state of the art cab.

The average farmer does all of his regular maintenance himself, but rarely cracks open an operator’s manual.  New Holland designs their tractors so that the owner can easily perform all of his servicing and minor repairs, without special knowledge of complex systems and adjustments, without investing in special tools or having to pay for specialized technicians.

A farmer depends on his New Holland tractor to bring in his crops within a sometimes very narrow window of opportunity that mother nature provides, or to feed his animals day after day.  If his equipment lets him down, it costs him money.  It affects his livelihood.  The New Holland support system is such that there are 7 major parts depots in constant communication with over 1,400 New Holland dealerships across North America. This assures not only exceptional emergency replacement parts availability and distribution, but also keeps pricing at a competitive level.  If you’re not happy with one parts source, simply go to another.

With our New Holland Sur-TracTM groomer you also get the original parts removed during conversion (front axle and wheels, steering orbit, cab steps, etc).  This represents 2 benefits;  A)  the grooming kit can be removed and tractor put to use in the off season, and B)  resale value is not a problem because there is always a great demand for used farm tractors.

We have chosen to focus on product quality and customer satisfaction, rather than volume and expansion.  We do not have any promotional / advertising campaigns and product giveaways, or aggressive sales tactics.  We prefer to invest in after sale support instead.  Our best advertising has been "word of mouth" from clubs who have purchased our groomers and have been completely satisfied.

Some of the most prominent clubs around have purchased their 2nd, 3rd and even 4th (one just ordered their 8th!!!) New Holland Sur-TracTM groomer from us. Clubs who have the means to purchase whatever groomer they desire, such as Huronia Southern Zone, Haliburton Snow County - Paudash Trailblazers - Gravenhurst Snocrest Riders (A.S.A.), Muskoka Snow Region (M.S.R.), Nation Valley Snowmobile Assoc., Sudbury Trail Plan, etc. are all repeat customers.  We must be doing something right!
